Rolling Center Monorail Track (8)
A monorail track is a specialised track system designed to guide and support the movement of doors that either fold or slide open and closed. This system is often used in various environments such as residential, commercial, and industrial spaces due to its efficiency and space-saving properties.
What is a non-galvanised monorail track?
A non-galvanised monorail track is a type of track used for guiding folding and sliding doors that has not undergone the galvanisation process. Galvanisation typically involves coating steel or iron with a layer of zinc to protect it from rust and corrosion. In contrast, non-galvanised tracks do not have this protective zinc coating. We recommend a non galvanised track if you are welding the track to a gate prior to this being galvanised.
This is to prevent galvanising on top of already coated galvanised steel, which if not done to a high standard and seamless can cause an uneven surface and disrupt the running of the rollers inside the track
What is a galvanised monorail track?
A galvanised monorail track is a type of track used for guiding folding and sliding doors that has undergone the galvanisation process. Galvanisation involves coating steel or iron with a layer of zinc to protect it from rust and corrosion. This makes galvanised tracks more durable and suitable for a variety of environments, including those with higher moisture levels or exposure to the elements.
Key features of a monorail track:
Smooth Operation: The monorail track ensures that doors can slide or fold with minimal effort, providing a seamless and quiet operation. The track is mounted to the wall or ceiling above the entrance minimising any groundworks or disruption to foundations.
Durable Construction: Typically made from high-quality materials such as aluminium or steel, the tracks are designed to withstand significant wear and tear, ensuring long-term durability.
Space Efficiency: By allowing doors to slide or fold, the system helps in saving space.Tracks can also be mounted side by side, similar to a telescopic door to maximise space in an opening
Versatility: Suitable for a variety of door types and sizes, making it adaptable to different architectural and interior design needs. We have 3 size ranges of track ranging from weight capacity of 80kg up to over 400kg. Each track is supplied in 3m lengths and all accessories are provided for mounting and joining together.
Benefits of using a monorail track
Safety:
Stability: Properly installed monorail tracks provide stable and secure movement, reducing the risk of doors derailing or causing injury. Guide rollers and mounting brackets are the key to ensure this. Guide rollers hold the bottom of the door in alignment and prevent swinging. Brackets are recommended to be installed minimum every 400mm distance, this provides a strong and stable fastening.
Accessibility: Easier to operate for people with mobility issues, as they do not require significant force to open or close.
Energy Efficiency:
Better Insulation: Can be designed to provide good insulation, helping to maintain temperature and reduce energy costs.
Sealing Options: Some monorail systems offer enhanced sealing to prevent drafts and improve energy efficiency.
Improved Functionality:
Enhanced Usability: Sliding or folding doors on monorail tracks improve the functionality of a space by allowing easy division and opening of areas.
Efficient Use of Light and Air: Facilitates better control over light and ventilation in a room, especially with glass doors.
